Chhattisgarh Labour Welfare Fund (LWF) 2026

2026 Chhattisgarh LWF Applicable
Chhattisgarh follows the Chhattisgarh Shram Kalyan Nidhi Adhiniyam, 1982 (adapted from the erstwhile Madhya Pradesh Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1982 post-state bifurcation in 2000). Importantly, the Act applies to any establishment employing 1 or more persons — there is no minimum headcount threshold, making it one of the broadest LWF scopes in India. Supervisory/managerial employees earning above ₹10,000/month are excluded. Minimum employer contribution per half-year is ₹1,500 per establishment.

Chhattisgarh LWF FAQs

Is the Chhattisgarh LWF different from the MP LWF?
Yes. Post-bifurcation in 2000, Chhattisgarh inherited and adapted the MP Labour Welfare Fund rules. While the framework is similar, the contribution rates and administrative thresholds have been independently notified by the Chhattisgarh government.
What is the employer-to-employee contribution ratio in Chhattisgarh?
The employer contributes 3 times the employee's share. If the employee contributes ₹6 per half-year, the employer contributes ₹18 per employee per half-year.
